After decades of use every engine needs the tlc required to restore it's original power and efficiency. From pre-war to modern classic, 2 to 12 cylinders and of every marque our skilled mechanics routinely rebuild engines (and gearboxes) of all types to the exacting standards that the Jim Stokes Workshops Group is renowned for. We will only use top quality components and our extensive machine shop within TripleM means that we control the quality of work from start to finish. Once rebuilt the engine will be thoroughly tested either through road tests, rolling road or our in house engine dyno ensuring that it is running exactly as it should. The sympathetic restoration of any classic car requires skill, experience and facilities, all of which can be found at Classics. A full restoration is a lengthy process which starts with a detailed assessment of overall condition and the preparation of a full report. Outline costs are also provided. Work will start with ensuring that the body is completely sound using either the best quality panels or with the fabrication of panels should they be unavailable. Very often this process uncovers many years of previous poor quality repairs which we will fully correct. Once the body is as good as new attention will turn to the mechanical elements, the electrics and the interior. All work is in full consultation with the owner, enabling us to highlight any unexpected work and agree timescales.
